.... over the holiday weekend, I decided that I was tired of the old Sony Walkman (I have several in several different versions for different applications/reasons .. if you will). All are CD players - no Mp3 players .. I gave my Mp3 player away last year because it was not compatible with MusicMatch's download site ... anyway, ....
I went out and bought an iPod (Apple) ... and because I wanted something light and unobtrusive for running and my workouts we drove over to U (University) Village's Apple store where I got the iPod Shuffle (about the size of a pack of gum - maybe a bit longer). I also grabbed a black neoprene cover kit from goincase.com which turned out to be a great impulse purchase.
Surely, I am going to lose the rest of my hearing on this apparatus as I am a rock 'n roller and like rockin' country music, as well. Happy thoughts of rock n' rollin on my mind, I hurried and booted up the old pc and connected the iPod to the USB connect ... loaded the software, registered the baby ......loaded up all available tunes from MusicMatch and Win Media Player libraries .. all did not take as they were Mp3 purchases from MusicMatch and Liquid Audio - the later, I do not use anymore for political reasons ... anyway ...
Sweet ! easy enough to do.
I used the Shuffle for about an hour or so until I realized the earbuds were too big for my ears... my ears were flaming red ....and in pain. Ouch! I tried to reposition the buds different ways - nothing worked.
I ended up pulling my favorite headset off of one of my Sony players .... hmmmm - comfy and was back to rockin bass in no time ... however, the headset is bright yellow/black (from the waterproof Walkman) ... LOL !
I spent several hours looking for a replacement figuring that I am not going to spend $30-50 for something that might not be what I want. The only two options I could find (and this was at 2am today) was one for $150 and the other $299 - mind you, I only paid $99 for the Shuffle ...
I went to sleep .... not happy.
Later this morning, I talked to Heather (lil Miss Techie) and she said to go to a Brit website - Tech Devils at TechDevils.com (Hello, Chrissy!) and buy their earbud adapters/enhancers ....
I placed my order thru epal ....
...in the meantime, I am listening to my cool iPod with my funky yeller headset
I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend,
joanna
Don't just hate the limits they place on us poor consumers? We buy the music, not the limitations. I just hate it when someone else decides just what I can or can't do with my music.
